If you’re new around here, I’m Monica! And this is my husband, Bill or who I like to call William. We’re the faces behind Willow Home Studio.
We’re both trained in medicine, Bill a nurse anesthetist and me a surgery PA, which is actually what brought us together, meeting at work in the OR and bonding on operating on-call at all hours of the night.
It all started when I remodeled & designed my very first home – a dark, dingy, rundown 1930s bungalow in the woods – the house that nearly everyone but me thought should be torn down. What others saw was unsalvageable, I saw as a gem in the woods and a beautiful opportunity to pour love into this sweet home.
When I met Bill, I now had a whole new level of muscle behind the vision 😉 and I slowly convinced him to completely renovate the last untouched space – the walk-up bungalow attic. I don’t know how I didn’t scare him away laying out my vision for this space, but the first week I did, I came home from a 24 hour shift of doing surgeries all night long, and Bill had the entire attic framed out and ready for wiring. This may have been the moment the vision burst through every ounce of us and after a lot of love and sweat poured into this home, the newly renovated bungalow inspired Willow Home Studio to be born.
The name Willow stemmed as a spin off from my love of my husband (William) and an origin behind the word willow – graceful in manner and rooted in strength – playing perfectly to the balance of aesthetic and function we envision in home design
I may be the creative behind Willow, but we wouldn’t be where we are today without this guy hustling behind the scenes and supporting all my wild & crazy dreams
